It’s never just one trait; it’s a cluster of traits that serve as a warning. Chronic lying, even about small things. Refusing to take accountability. Limiting other people’s choices and attempting to control them. Ignoring boundaries and pushing past them. All of these traits together paint a picture of someone who is harmful and destructive. Recognizing manipulation and harmful patterns is not being judgmental of others; it is protecting yourself and understanding the reality of the situation. When you see one of these red flags, you can be certain there are others.
