I first met Santa Muerte when I felt Her presence around me, steady, maternal, and without judgment. From that moment, She has been like a Mother to me, guiding me through endings, healing, and transformation. She has been integral in my healing, helping me release fear and find peace in the cycles of life and death.
I would like to try retablo painting, a traditional form of Mexican folk art, as a devotion to Her, to bring Her colors and symbols to life with my own hands. I would also like to cast my own image of Her and learn the Mexican language, so I can honor Her prayers and songs in their original words.
I approach Her path with deep respect for the people, artists, and traditions of Mexico who have kept Her devotion alive. I love finding new ways to appreciate, honor, and devote to Her more deeply.
