I wore my sundress in the rain—
Soaked hair, shoulders bare, skin to skin with cotton—
Sky drops.
Cloud stories written all over me.
Water trailed paths down my body,
kissed my cells alive,
and lifted my eyes toward heaven.
I went barefoot outside like a child.
Toes pressed against the wet,
soles balancing my wish to be most present.
I was given the rain,
and I embraced the part of myself that knows unquestioningly this gift is for me.
I opened myself to receive it.
